Turbo-Hydramatic or Turbo Hydra-Matic is the registered tradename for a family of automatic transmissions developed and produced by General Motors.These transmissions mate a three-element turbine torque converter to a Simpson planetary geartrain, providing three forward speeds plus reverse.
There was also a choice between a three-speed automatic transmission, the Turbo-Hydramatic TH350, or one of two fully-synchronized manual transmissions: a three-speed, or a four-speed , which included a "granny gear" low-ratio 6.55:1 first gear. [5] The 350 was offered only with the SM465 or TH350; manual locking front hubs were optional. [3]

Braking hardware includes full brake kits including calipers, rotors and stainless steel braided brake lines. Separate performance brake pads are also sold. Oil and air filters are offered. Engine head gaskets and camshafts are sold as well. A number of cosmetic modifications are available among other performance equipment.
Hurst produced aftermarket replacement manual transmission shifters and other automobile performance enhancing parts.. Hurst was also an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) supplier for automakers and provided services or components for numerous muscle car models by American Motors (AMC), Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors.
Few parts were interchangeable. The ST300, used with V-8 engines had additional clutches in the clutch packs, so they could handle the extra power of the larger engines. One of the clutch drums and/or apply piston in the ST300 was often used to 'beef-up' a Powerglide for high performance/racing uses.
