Jonathan Howsmon Davis (born January 18, 1971), also known as JD, [1] is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is the lead vocalist and frontman of nu metal band Korn, which is considered a pioneering act of the nu metal genre.
Shaffer was born June 16, 1970, in Rosedale, California. [2] He was adopted by his parents as an infant, along with two other siblings. Shaffer and the other members of Korn grew up in an agricultural town of Bakersfield, California, two hours north of Los Angeles.
