Juniperus maritima is a species of juniper known by the common name seaside juniper.It is native to the central Salish Sea region in southwestern British Columbia and northwestern Washington, where it is an endemic species and is abundant on coast bluffs as well as on dry mountain ridges on the Olympic Peninsula. She was the sixth of the fourteen Juniper-class ships launched. Her hull is constructed of welded steel plates. She is 225 feet (69 m) long and has a beam of 46 feet (14 m). She is capable of maintaining a sustained speed of 15 knots. The ship has thirteen diesel fuel tanks capable of holding 74,498 gallons. [3]
USCGC Kukui (WLB-203) is the third cutter in the Juniper-class 225 ft (69 m) of seagoing buoy tenders and is the third ship to bear the name. She is under the operational control of the Commander of the Seventeenth Coast Guard District and is home-ported in Sitka, Alaska.
The current Juniper is much larger at 225 feet and 2000 tons, and was the first cutter to fully leverage and implement many technological advances such as electronic charting, position keeping, and remote engineering monitoring and control. Juniper is also designed to skim and recover oil in the event of an oil spill.

USCGC Maple (WLB-207) is a Juniper-class seagoing buoy tender operated by the United States Coast Guard.She was based at Sitka, Alaska for 16 years and is currently homeported at Atlantic Beach, North Carolina.
