I ordered my 2010 with the dripless shaft seal and am glad I did. Don’t know the manufacturer, but I think it is the OJ version (white body, red grommet and a blue rubber dust cap). I’m now at about 860 hours and had no issues with it whatsoever, I’ve seen not a single drip on the shaft seal in the last 9 seasons, love my dry, clean bilge!

    www.themalibucrew.com/index.php?/forums/topic/62883...

Modifications & Accessories. Leaking Valve Cover Gasket. Reasonably optioned (list 140-150) and after negotiation it's more like $105-110 fo a 2018 23LSV. That ain't cheap and there probably isn't really $30k more fun in the 2018, but there is a five year warranty and the additional piece of mind of knowing how the boat has been taken care of.

It's not an Evolution, but the design around the tower base is the same (it's whatever the now defunct Sacramento dealer was using 2 years ago).

That is normal, provided that the boat wasn't actually leaking while it was in the water. If the bilge was dry you are good. Basically, the seal is around the shaft near the coupler inside the boat, so water gets in from below and floods that chamber. Malibu used a "Hydroponic Damping System" (HDS) box on some models that does hold about a gallon.
