Guy Rollingsheim Brewer (January 27, 1904 – October 31, 1978, aged 74) [1] was an American politician who served in the New York State Assembly between 1969 and 1978. He was one of the first African-Americans to be elected to political office in the New York City borough of Queens, and the first African-American to serve as Majority Whip in the Assembly.
District 27 is based in the predominantly Black neighborhoods of southeastern Queens, including St. Albans, Cambria Heights, and parts of Jamaica, Hollis, Springfield Gardens, and Queens Village.
