Fergus is the largest community in Centre Wellington, a township within Wellington County in Ontario, Canada. It lies on the Grand River about 18 km NNW of Guelph . The population of this community at the time of the 2016 Census was 20,767, [ 1 ] but the community is growing as new homes are being built for sale.
He purchased the Cherry Motor Court in Long Beach in 1933, and in 1938 purchased the Beach Motel, which would become the first Best Western property. Over time he built or owned 13 motels in California. In 1946 he started an association of independently owned hotels to refer business to each other, which was the beginning of Best Western. [1]

The Elora mill, built in the 1830s, was a hotel until 2010. It was restored to luxury level and reopened as the Elora Mill Inn and Spa on July 6, 2018.
