A new addition has been constructed at Dakota College at Bottineau (then called Minot State University–Bottineau) and Old Main will be left vacant. People at the college are looking at ways to maintain the building and put it to a new use. It will be left vacant and minimally heated after faculty have moved into the new addition in August 2007.

Altis Lee Ellis (born March 1, 1942) [1] is an American sociologist who was a professor of sociology at Minot State University from 1976 to 2007. He was also an assistant and associate professor there from 1976 to 2009, after which he served as a visiting professor at the University of Malaya from 2010 to 2012.
