Three Dog Night is an American rock band formed in 1967, founded by vocalists Chuck Negron, Cory Wells, and Danny Hutton.This lineup was soon augmented by Jimmy Greenspoon (keyboards), Joe Schermie (bass), Michael Allsup (guitar), and Floyd Sneed (drums).
In 1985, a falling out with Negron left Hutton and Wells with the name "Three Dog Night" as an entity, and the pair (along with original member Mike Allsup) toured regularly each year. Original member Jimmy Greenspoon also toured with Three Dog Night until a diagnosis of metastatic melanoma in late 2014, which led to his death on 11 March 2015. [9]

Captured Live at the Forum is the third album by American rock band Three Dog Night, released in 1969.. The album was recorded at The Forum in Los Angeles.According to Three Dog Nightmare, Three Dog Night opened this show in support of Steppenwolf, who were recording various shows on their 1969–70 tour for an upcoming live album (Steppenwolf Live, released 1970).
The band got back together in the early 1980s and continued with Hutton and Wells along with founding members Allsup and Greenspoon. Greenspoon died on March 11, 2015, and Wells died on October 20, 2015. Three Dog Night started a tour in August 2021 that did not include Allsup, leaving Hutton as the sole original member.
