ShoppingTown Mall is an abandoned regional shopping mall in Dewitt, New York.First opened as an open-air shopping center in 1954, it was enclosed in 1973 and remained a major shopping center before no longer being part of Dewitt in March 2020 to make way for a new $400 million development, which will be named District East.
Schrafft's was founded by William G. Schrafft as a candy manufacturer in Boston, but over time the company also became a well-known restaurant.In 1898, Frank G. Shattuck, a salesman for the Schrafft company from Upstate New York, opened a candy store at Broadway and West 36th Street in Manhattan, New York City. [1]

DeWitt was part of the Central New York Military Tract.The first settlers arrived around 1789. The original Erie Canal progressed through the town in 1825. DeWitt was formed in 1835 from the Town of Manlius and was named in honor of Moses DeWitt, [5] a major in the militia, a county judge, and one of the first settlers of the county.

Ojos Locos (pronounced [ˈo.xos ˈlo.kos], Spanish for "Crazy Eyes") was founded in 2010 by restaurateurs Randy DeWitt, Jack Gibbons, Rich Hicks, and Todd East. [1] DeWitt, the owner of parent company Front Burner Restaurants, had previously founded Twin Peaks , a chain of wilderness lodge-themed breastaurants, in 2005. [ 2 ]
