The Union of Catholic University Students of the Republic of Indonesia (Indonesian: Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Katolik Republik Indonesia, PMKRI), is a nationwide social organisation in Indonesia. PMKRI was founded in Yogyakarta on 25 May 1947 ; 77 years ago ( 1947-05-25 ) .
When first founded the university had only the social faculty. The government regulated that a university must have both social and science faculties. Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia opened a Faculty of Technology with the Mechanical Engineering department. The founders were Ir. J. P. Cho and Ir. Bian Tamin (Tan Bian Seng).
