Japanese kawaii metal band Babymetal has released four studio albums, twelve live albums, one compilation album, ten video albums, one EP, thirteen singles, and eighteen music videos. Additionally, the group has released music and footage exclusively for the band's defunct fanclub Babymetal Apocalypse and current fanclub The One.
Babymetal is the debut studio album by Japanese heavy metal group Babymetal.It was first released on February 26, 2014, in Japan through BMD Fox Records, and was re-released on May 29, 2015 (), in Europe through earMusic, and June 16, 2015 (), in the United States through RED Associated Labels (RAL) and Sony Music Entertainment.
On July 7, 2012, Babymetal announced the first of three shows to be performed on October 6, 2012 at the venue Shibuya O-East, the same location for the concert Legend Corset Festival to promote the single "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!". [1] Tickets were made available for presale starting August 20, 2012, and sold out on September 8, 2012.
Live at Budokan: Red Night & Black Night Apocalypse [a] is the third live video release by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal.It contains two concerts performed at Nippon Budokan shortly after the release of the band's eponymous debut album, and was released on January 7, 2015 in a standard edition and a limited-edition box set exclusively for "The One" fanclub members.
The song was first released in Japan as part of the band's debut album Babymetal on February 26, 2014, with a live music clip of the premiere uploaded to YouTube the day before, on February 25, 2014. The song received a release in the United Kingdom as a digital single on iTunes on May 31, 2015, one day before the physical re-release of the album.
The two bands toured Japan together in October 2023, performing "Kingslayer" throughout the tour. A live music video was released for "Kingslayer" composed of footage from the Tokyo performance on 14 December 2023. [4] Bring Me the Horizon and Babymetal would perform the song live together again at Sick New World 2024. [5]
The single was first announced after the concert Legend "I" at Shibuya O-East on October 6, 2012. [1] An early version of the song can be heard in a video uploaded to the band's official YouTube channel entitled "Babymetal – My First Heavy Metal in Tokyo 2012", which also features part of a live performance of "Iine!". [2]
In 2013, a music video was released as part of a bonus DVD for the limited "Z" edition of the single Ijime, Dame, Zettai. The video features the live performance of the song from Legend: Corset Festival on July 21, 2012, interspersed with behind-the-scenes footage of the band members and close-ups of the three members singing the lines of the song.
