You can set the color of an individual link or set of links on a page (rather than a global change to the style of all links on Wikipedia) as follows. Setting styles in this way will apply to everyone who views those particular links or that particular page, not just you. However, links intended for readers should never be manually colored.

Links should clearly be identifiable as links to readers. Refrain from implementing coloured links that may impede user ability to distinguish links from regular text, or colour links for purely aesthetic reasons. Users can change the way they see links: By selecting a different skin. By applying a user style using CSS (see Help:Link color). By changing the "Underline links" value on the Appearance tab of user preferences.
Once you have entered that code, the external link should look like this: Note that if someone is using a custom skin that specifies different link colors, for example, green for internal links, and purple for "redlinks," a link formatted with this code will still look blue, and not match other links in appearance, to that user.
Either of those lines changes the color for all either visited or unvisited links. For example, when I use the second line, with the color changed to a purple, it changes all visited links including redirects (which used to be orange), red links (which used to be dark red), and links to disambiguation pages (which used to be olive) to purple.
