Corrales is a village in southern Sandoval County, New Mexico, United States. First farmed by Tiquex Pueblo people, chosen due to its proximity to the Rio Grande , as documented by Hispano farmers of Nuevo México in the late 1500s.
New Mexico State Road 448 (NM 448) is a 13.01-mile-long (20.94 km) state highway in Sandoval County and Bernalillo County, New Mexico. NM 448 is assigned as Coors Road inside of Albuquerque, and is assigned as Corrales Road in Corrales, New Mexico. The highway's northern terminus is at an intersection with NM 528 (Pat D'Arco Highway) in Rio Rancho.
Sandoval County was created in 1903 from the northern part of Bernalillo County.Its name comes from one of the large land-holding Spanish families in the area. The original county seat was Corrales, but it was moved to Bernalillo in 1905.
San Ysidro Church is a historic church on Church Road in Corrales, New Mexico. It was erected in 1868 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. [1] It is the second of three churches named after Saint Isidore (Ysidro), the patron saint of farmers. It is a one-story adobe church with towers added in 1929. [2]
