I took a guitar I bought to get a refret to a highly recommended luthier near me. This luthier also builds his own guitars and while picking up my guitar I tried some of his and was absolutely floored. The brand is called Robert Gilmore Custom guitars and the two I got are super lightweight (6.3lbs) and are made from exotic and beautiful woods.
Another of the Portland Fret Works luthiers did a fine job with a new nut, pickup installation and setup on my prized Yamaha FG-435A-T (c. 1990) acoustic guitar. Turnaround time is comparatively speedy. Pricing is extremely fair. Just remember to bring cash or your checkbook — they still don’t accept cards.
A luthier near me does guitar-building classes. You get to build your own acoustic or electric guitar under his guidance using all the tools and facilities of his workshop. If you're lucky maybe there's something like that near you. If I was looking for a kit, personally I'd just buy a nice neck. The rest is relatively easy.
I sent the video to my sales guy, I have bought a few from them and I am sure they will take care of me either way, but I have also heard that Custom Shop warranty work is a pain. Is this an issue? Is it a simple fix that I can get done locally? (There is an excellent luthier near me who has taken care of other friend's minor issues with CS ...
I live near Tyler, TX. I have a Reverend Double Agent that needs a fret repair, and perhaps leveling. Can anyone near Tyler or Dallas recommend someone for this work? I don't have any real expensive guitars, but this is my baby and I don't want to drop it off at the local retailer. Thanks.

I have a luthier near me who will refret the neck from nut to butt end for about $250...less than a Warmoth neck would cost me. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for a Warmoth neck if I though it was install-and-play, but if I also have to get the neck leveled, then it's not worth the price and the hassle of other work.

Messages. 2,373. Dec 4, 2016. #1. I'm looking for a qualified, experienced luthier to replace the nut on a couple guitars to alleviate tuning issues. I'm in New Castle, PA which is about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh. I've had a nut replaced previously by guitar center and the guy took the nut out of the package and glued it in and gave it back.

Its time to accept computers run every facet of your life. This is an very understandable assumtion to make, but is really quite a false one.
