Founded as Chisago County's first estate winery in 1995, WineHaven has become a cornerstone of Minnesota winemaking, producing highly acclaimed wines that capture the distinctive flavors of its vineyards and region.
The rich soil and unique microclimate of the Chisago Lakes Area is especially suitable for producing wines with intense fruit flavors and high natural acidity. WineHaven's vineyards straddle the 45th and 46th parallels, at approximately the same latitude as the great winemaking regions of Bordeaux and Burgundy, France.
WineHaven was founded in 1995 by Kevin and Cheri Peterson, along with their sons Kyle and Troy. Cheri coordinates WineHaven's special events and Troy is the winery's tasting room manager. Kevin and Kyle Peterson are WineHaven's father-and-son winemaking team.
