The Trent River is a fresh water river of the coastal plain region of eastern North Carolina.It flows in an easterly direction from its origin approximately 15 miles (24 km) southwest of Kinston, North Carolina and traverses portions of Lenoir County, Jones County and Craven County prior to emptying into the Neuse River at New Bern, North Carolina.
New Bern (formerly Newbern [6]) is a city in and the county seat of Craven County, North Carolina, United States.At the 2020 census, it had a population of 31,291. [7] It is located at the confluence of the Neuse and the Trent rivers, near the headwaters of Pamlico Sound on the North Carolina coast.

Craven County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina.As of the 2020 census, the population was 100,720. [1] Its county seat is New Bern. [2] The county was created in 1705 as Archdale Precinct from the now-extinct Bath County.
