WordPad comes already built-in to Windows 10 so you don't need to download it. You should be able to find it here:->Windows Accessories->WordPad. or by typing wordpad in the search box on your taskbar then selecting it when it appears (listed as a desktop app).
Currently, WordPad exists in the Windows 11 and if you open start and search for WordPad, you will find it. However, Microsoft plan to remove it in the future build and in this case you won't be able to download it.

I found the wordpad application the the C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories just like you said. However, when i try to search wordpad on my search bar no application shows up. Also i seem to be able to use wordpad to open .docx files if i use "open with". But if i just set "opens with" as wordpad in properties it doesn't work.
