The central library of the university is the Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Münster (ULB), which is also the regional library of Westphalia. In 1969, the School of Business and Economics evolved out of the former School of Law, Business and Economics at the University of Münster. Since 1902, the latter had itself offered all the courses relating to Law, Business Studies and Economics. During the 1960s, the number of students taking economics courses increased substantially.
