the line spooler I use for spinning reels turns and the bail does while reeling in. its suppose to falling the reel spinning and removes some of the line twist. 14 minutes ago, WRB said: The Kastking line spooler is a device clamped onto the rod with a mandrel that turns the filler spell sideways facing the reel.
Hello I am looking into buying the berkley mini line spooler and i was wondering, what is the difference between using that one or the portable line spooler and if any of you have used it and your experiences with it.
Big screw and washer poke thru line spool screw to the wall of your shop start winding. Or you can buy a spool holder and line holder from Walmart, Academy, 15.00 I think works like a charm has a little rubber lined hole to thread the line through.
The line stripper died about a decade ago, and then 2 years ago the spool station broke. I bought a new one and, although it didn't come with a line stripper, I was delighted with the improvements; namely, adapters for spooling spinning reels, and stabilizers with suction cups that do an excellent job of holding it in place while using it.
I built my own line spooler that I use on both my spinning and baitcasting reels. I used a couple pieces of spare wood I had, 2 bolts, and a couple washers/nuts. With a 2x4 that is approximately 18" long, I drilled a hole in the center of it that holds a bolt run through the line.
I built one using scrap wood I had laying around. 8" wide X 48" tall 3/4" plywood, some scrap 2" X 4" for the stand/base. I drilled 6 holes centered in a vertical line about 6" apart. I inserted 6" threaded bolts. I put a rubber washer on first, then the line spool, another rubber washer, then a wing nut.
I don't know why I didnt think of this way sooner! I can use my board for alot of things now lol This worked great!!
Made this today with less then $4 in materials minus the pieces of 2x4. I made it to be screwed down to my work bench but until I get it where I want it,it's portable. It's ugly but works. Slide your spool of line on and tighten the wing nut down to the proper tension. Set it on the floor and beg...
With spinning reels, line management is critical to prevent line twists, and the common thinking is to have the line come upwards from the spool, with the spool laying flat and the label facing up. This allows the line to come off the spool of line and onto the spool of your reel the same way it was put on at the factory, eliminating future ...
Initial line twist when loading a spinning reel occurs because the diameter of the source spool is different from the diameter of the receiving spool on the reel. Line twist is more destructive (and expensive) with braid than with mono. You solve line twist by always fishing spinning tackle with a swivel - a micro-swivel is plenty good for this.
