KY 3600 is the state highway designation for the western extension of the Veterans Outer Loop around the city of Glasgow, the Barren County seat.The route begins at a junction with KY 1267 and ends at a crossroad intersection with the concurrently running U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and KY 80, US 68 Business, and the pre-existing part of the outer loop on the west side of town.
KY 1297 is one out of two old, original routes from Bowling Green directly to Glasgow, the other being the current U.S. Route 68 (US 68) and KY 80 alignment east of Bowling Green. KY 1297 starts at an intersection with KY 1402 east of Bowling Green. The road in its entire route from KY 1402 to the Barren County line is known as Gott–Hydro Road.
When that extension was completed in 2012, the KY 3160 designation was decommissioned when US 68 was rerouted onto the Outer Loop, and the original US 68 through Glasgow became US 68 Business. [citation needed] On May 28, 2015, the Veterans Outer Loop was extended on Glasgow's west side. Construction of the extension began in late 2014.

On May 28, 2015, a new interchange was opened west of Glasgow to serve the western extension of the Veterans Outer Loop. The eastern extension of that road has been opened in early 2012, complete with the opening of exit 15, which serves the eastern extension of Veterans Outer Loop, designated at KY 1519 .
