James MacPherson is a former Warehouse Agent who was Artie Nielsen's partner.According to his backstory, he and Artie had a falling out, fifteen years previously, when MacPherson used the "Phoenix" artifact to rescue his wife, Carol Augustine (Lynne Cormack), from a fire that killed five firefighters (whenever the Phoenix is used to save a life, at least one other person must die).
