The Commission on Aging is tasked with reviewing and making recommendations for statewide programs and activities to the Secretary of Aging. It consists of thirteen members – eleven citizens and two nonvoting members (a state Senator, currently Benjamin F. Kramer; and a state Delegate, currently Kathy Szeliga) – who are appointed by the Governor of Maryland to four-year terms.

Rona E. Kramer (born August 16, 1954) is an American politician who served as the Maryland Secretary of Aging under Governor Larry Hogan from 2015 to 2023. She was previously a member of the Maryland Senate from 2003 to 2011.
Gloria Gary Lawlah (born March 12, 1939) is an American politician who served as the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Aging under Governor Martin O'Malley from 2007 to 2015. She previously served in the Maryland Senate from 1991 to 2007 and in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1987 to 1991. [1]
