Lara Radulovich and David Hannam developed Wentworth from Reg Watson's original concept. The series is set in the modern day and begins with Bea Smith's (Danielle Cormack) early days in prison. During the course of the series, 100 episodes of Wentworth aired over eight seasons, between 1 May 2013 and 26 October 2021.

The sixth season of the Australian television drama series Wentworth premiered on Showcase on 19 June 2018 and concluded on 4 September 2018. It was executively produced by FremantleMedia's Director of Drama, Jo Porter. The season comprised 12 episodes, and picks up days after the escape of Franky Doyle and Joan Ferguson.
She is seen in the background throughout the show. In season 1, she helps Franky get revenge on Jacs. In season 3, she is one of Lucy Gambaro's henchwomen, along with Stella Radic. In season 5, she helps hold Linda Miles hostage in Ferguson's "kangaroo court". In season 6, she is part of Vicky Kosta's fight club, where she fights and loses to Ruby.
She served mainly as the primary antagonist for season 2, before becoming a protagonist for season 3. In season 4, Franky was released from Wentworth after she fought for her innocence, and began her career as a legal aide. She returned for seasons 5 and 6 as the series' main protagonist, until her release and subsequent departure from the series.
