$10.37 Million grant to expand Put-In-Bay ferry infrastructure
[1] [2] Jet Express service expanded from the original Port Clinton to Put-in-Bay route to include the mainland port of Sandusky in 2005. The Sandusky route further expanded to include regular service to Kelleys Island, and Put-in-Bay starting in 2006. Service to Cedar Point started in 2016, with regular service to the islands in 2017.
Middle Bass is serviced by the Miller Boat Line from Catawba Island and the Middle Bass Ferry Line from Put-In-Bay. It is common to use Middle Bass as a less crowded base and then take the Sonny S (sole ship of the Middle Bass Ferry Line) to Put-In-Bay for the day. Middle Bass Island Airport has a 1852-foot runway with commercial air-taxi service.
The runway is part of the Put-in-Bay Port Authority. North Bass Island has no ferry service but has maintained a dock for commercial grape activity since 1880 with substantial improvements and additions as early as 1900. The most recent improvement to the dock to ensure that commercial vessels could still serve the island occurred in 2019.

In 1952–1959, as well as 1963, the island held road races around a 3-mile (4.8 km) course. In 2011, the Put-in-Bay Road Races Reunion returned to the island. The temporary road course set up at the Put-in-Bay Airport during the event was a key step in pointing the way to the return of real vintage sports car racing to the island for 2012. [22]
