Sevierville (/ s ə ˈ v ɪər v ɪ l / sə-VEER-vil) is a city in and the county seat of Sevier County, Tennessee, United States, [7] located in eastern Tennessee. The population was 17,889 at the 2020 United States Census .
Development of the site included a hotel and outdoor waterpark. The second area opened in December 2008 and offers a condominium resort and indoor waterpark (titled the 'Wild WaterDome', which is one of the largest indoor waterparks in Tennessee [1]). The third area added was the 'Lake Wilderness' outdoor waterpark and became available in May 2009.
The town is situated along the northern bank of the Douglas Lake impoundment of the French Broad River, approximately 45 miles (72 km) upstream by river from its confluence with the Holston and Tennessee rivers at Knoxville, and approximately 12 miles (19 km) upstream from Douglas Dam.
