Rogue Elk is an unincorporated community in Jackson County, Oregon, United States. [1] It lies along Oregon Route 62 and the Rogue River between Shady Cove and Prospect. [2] Elk Creek enters the river at Rogue Elk. [2] Rogue Elk County Park is by the river. This 33-acre (13 ha) park offers river access, fishing, rafting, swimming, and picnicking.
Shady Cove is part of Jackson County school district number 9, which includes Eagle Point, White City, and the surrounding areas. The school in town is the Shady Cove School, and serves grades K-8. [20] In 2012, the school was within the top 5% of Oregon schools that receive title 1 funds. [8]
The upper Rogue plunges into Rogue River Gorge at Union Creek, Oregon. Soon the river receives Wizard and Copeland creeks from the left and passes under Oregon Route 230, which continues roughly parallel to the river along the left bank.

Casey State Recreation Site is a day-use only state park located 29 miles northeast of Medford, Oregon off Oregon Route 62. [1] The parks offers picnic and boating facilities, as well as access to the Rogue River. It is located on the Crater Lake Highway and is a popular salmon fishing area.
