In ancient times, Armorica or Aremorica (Gaulish: Aremorica; Breton: Arvorig [arˈvoːrik]; French: Armorique) was a region of Gaul between the Seine and the Loire that includes the Brittany Peninsula, and much of historical Normandy.
The Armorican Tumulus culture is a Bronze Age culture, located in the western part of the Armorican peninsula of France. It is known through more than a thousand burial sites covered by a tumulus or otherwise.
The main exposures of the Armorican terrane are found throughout Brittany, the Channel Islands, parts of Upper Normandy, forming the Armorican Massif. [1] Other fragments thought to have originally formed part of the Armorican terrane assemblage include rock units exposed in the Vosges, Black Forest, Bohemian Massif [2] and most of the Iberian peninsula.

The Parc naturel régional d'Armorique (French pronunciation: [paʁk natyʁɛl ʁeʒjɔnal daʁmɔʁik]; Breton: Park an Arvorig), or Armorica Regional Natural Park, is a rural protected area located in Brittany. The park land reaches from the Atlantic Ocean to hilly inland countryside.
Its name comes from the old Armorica, a Gaul area between the rivers Loire and Seine. The massif is composed of metamorphic and magmatic rocks that were metamorphosed and/or deformed during the Hercynian or Variscan orogeny (400 to 280 million years ago) and the earlier Cadomian orogeny (650 to 550 million years ago).
Archaeological evidence show a shift in trade with Britain from Armorica to the more north-easterly routes during the second half of the 1st century BC, following the Roman decisive victory over Gaulish Armorican tribes in 56 BC.
