The Kharqamar incident (Pashto: د خړکمر خونړۍ پېښه; Urdu: واقعہ خڑکمر; also Kharkamar or Khar Qamar massacre [4]) took place on 26 May 2019 when Pakistan Army massacred activists of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), who were holding a protest gathering near Kharqamar check post in North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
PTM held its first public gathering in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas (now part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) on 20 February 2018 at Inayat Kalay in Khaar, Bajaur. Attended by thousands of people, the gathering was the first of its kind in Bajaur in more than a decade. [1]
