Professor Ross Sinclair (born 1966 in Glasgow) is a Scottish visual artist, musician and writer. He lives and works in Kilcreggan, Argyll and is currently Reader in Contemporary Art Practice at The Glasgow School of Art, [1] whilst also maintaining his professional practice.
Guthrie was born in Greenock, the youngest son of the Rev. John Guthrie, a minister of the Evangelical Union church, [2] and Anne Orr. He originally enrolled at Glasgow University to study law , but in 1877 abandoned this in favour of painting.

Francis Cadell (pronounced "Caddle") [2] was born in Edinburgh, the son of Dr Francis Cadell FRCSE (1844–1909), a wealthy surgeon [3] and his wife, Mary Hamilton Boileau (1853–1907). [ 4 ] His childhood home was at 22 Ainslie Place [ 5 ] on Edinburgh's prestigious Moray Estate , and he was educated privately at the Edinburgh Academy . [ 6 ]
