The Lowrider Band consists of three of the four surviving original core group members of the multi-platinum selling band War: Howard E. Scott, Lee Oskar, and Harold Brown. These members lost the right in federal court to use and tour under the name "War" in the mid-1990s to Far Out Productions (producer and manager Jerry Goldstein ).
Lowrider was an Australian soul-indie band, formed in 2003 when brothers John (keyboard and Rhodes) and Paul Bartlett (drums) joined with bassist Scott Duncan and singer Joseph Braithwaite. Jerry Goldstein took them to court and sued for rights to the name of the band and won so now there is the band WAR with only Lonnie as the original band member. All other original band members and songwriters are in the Lowrider Band.
