Boynton Beach is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It is situated about 57 miles (92 km) north of Miami. The 2020 census recorded a population of 80,380. Boynton Beach is located in the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to 6,138,333 people at the 2020 census.
Bishop Coleman F. Carroll, the first bishop of the Archdiocese of Miami, purchased 100 acres of land near Boynton Beach to build a new seminary. In 1963, he invited the Vincentian Fathers to operate the seminary in 1963. The Vincentian Fathers withdrew from St. Vincent on July 1, 1971, and the archdiocese took over the facility.

The Town of Ocean Ridge was founded in 1931 as the Town of Boynton Beach, which was originally part of the Town of Boynton. Major Nathan S. Boynton toured the area in 1894, and established the Boynton Beach Hotel in 1897. The Town of Boynton was incorporated in 1920. In 1925 Addison Mizner drew plans for a 2,000 room hotel in Boynton.
