Flemington railway station is a heritage-listed railway station located on the Main Suburban line, serving the Sydney suburb of Flemington. It is served by Sydney Trains ' T2 Leppington & Inner West and occasional T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line services.

The Flemington Racecourse line originated in 1861 as a branch of the Melbourne and Essendon Railway Company, designed to link the Melbourne rail network with Flemington Racecourse. [6] The racecourse, established in 1840, gained its railway connection in 1861 but closed in 1864 due to financial issues. [ 7 ]
The station opened on 2 March 1891 by the Caledonian Railway. The signal box, which opened with the station, was to the west of the westbound platform and the goods yard was to the south. To the north were sidings as well as Lanarkshire steel works. The station closed on 4 January 1965. [1]
Flemington railway station is on the Inner West & Leppington Line of the Sydney Trains network, and the concourse is connected to the markets by a pedestrian overpass. Vehicle entrances to the markets are located on Homebush Bay Drive and Parramatta Road.
The station is very popular for locals but suffered from backlash after a renovation removed the historical concourse and station buildings. Although Flemington station is a relatively small station, it is surrounded by a large concentration of railway infrastructure. To the west of the suburb is Olympic Park railway line.
