Empire State VII, callsign WDO2002, IMO number 9910313, is a training ship owned by the United States Maritime Administration and operated by SUNY Maritime College. She is the first vessel in the National Security Multi-Mission Vessel ( NSMV ) class and has replaced the 1961-built Empire State VI .

Empire State VI underway on its 2015 training voyage on May 11, 2015. Each summer Empire State VI was activated for a 100-day training voyage. Students in the Regiment of Cadets operated the vessel for a summer sea term as part of their training requirements. The vessel's 2022 voyage, her last, ended on 2 August. [12]
