Thomas Jerome Hudner Jr. (August 31, 1924 – November 13, 2017) was a United States Navy officer and naval aviator.He rose to the rank of captain, and received the Medal of Honor for his actions in trying to save the life of his wingman, Ensign Jesse L. Brown, during the Battle of Chosin Reservoir in the Korean War.
On 2 November 1935, [2] Ramage married Barbara Alice Pine, the daughter of U.S. Coast Guard Vice Admiral James Pine. They had two sons and two daughters. Ramage died of cancer in his home at Bethesda, Maryland, in 1990. He and his wife Barbara Alice (1913–2002) are buried in Arlington National Cemetery. [25]

From 1873 to 1876 he commanded the Washington Navy Yard, as his father had done in 1836–1839.
