Wild Man Blues is a 1997 documentary film directed by Barbara Kopple, about the musical avocation of actor/director/comic Woody Allen.The film takes its name from a jazz composition by Jelly Roll Morton (with Louis Armstrong often credited as co-composer due to his influential arrangement), [1] recorded by Morton, Armstrong, and many others.
He has been a regular member of Woody Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band, which played at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan. He appeared in the documentary Wild Man Blues (directed by Barbara Kopple) about a 1996 European tour by Allen and his band. Cohen appears in Robert Altman's 1993 film Short Cuts.
