Neffex (stylized as in all caps) is an American music project by Bryce Savage and, until 2021, Cameron Wales. They produced remixes and original songs characterized by a mixture of electronic and rap genres. While still a duo, Savage wrote the lyrics, produced the tracks, and sang the songs while Wales mixed and mastered them.

The track was written with the help of American Idol viewers throughout Season 11 of the show. The creation of the song was promoted through Coca-Cola's "Perfect Harmony" program [2] [3] where, throughout the season, American Idol viewers were invited to contribute parts of the lyrics to a tune offered online, making the song a true collaborative effort by a big number of people.
Turner wrote, recorded and produced Undefeated in his home studio on Mersea Island, backed by his long-time band The Sleeping Souls: Ben Lloyd (guitar), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Callum Green (drums) and Matt Nasir (piano). The song received mostly positive reviews commending Burke's vocals and the production of the song. Matthew Chisling of Allmusic called the track "the most brilliant, perfect mainstream pop single of 2009", commending the song's synthesized beat and larger-than-life chorus, and Flo Rida's rap, stating that it made Burke "the prime UK import for the North American market".
