EVE tries to send WALL-E home in an escape pod, but the two witness McCrea's first mate robot, GO-4, stowing the plant in a pod set to self-destruct, revealing that WALL-E did not steal the plant. WALL-E enters the pod to retrieve the plant just as it launches, and he and the plant survive the destruction of the pod.
After a chase through the Axiom ' s halls evading security, EVE tries to send WALL-E home in an escape pod, but he refuses to leave her. They hide when GO-4 arrives and places the missing plant in the pod, which clears EVE's suspicions of the plant. WALL-E tries to retrieve it only for the pod to be jettisoned into space, set to self-destruct.
In WALL-E, she plays EVE (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator), a futuristic robot who descends to Earth in search of any life, specifically plants, that still exist in the 29th century. Knight stated that she had never read the script for WALL-E and made few preparations.

WALL-E heads to the chamber and struggles to keep it open. Captain McCrea manages to disable AUTO and straighten the ship while EVE inserts the plant to activate the hyperjump, freeing a partly damaged WALL-E. Having arrived back on Earth, EVE repairs and reactivates WALL-E, but finds that his memory has been reset and his personality is gone.
