The comarca is located in the area of Alicante and its capital and largest settlement is the city of Dénia. Marina Alta borders the comarca of Safor to the north, the Mediterranean Sea to the north and east, the comarca of Marina Baixa to the south and Comtat to the west. Marina Alta and Marina Baixa are commonly referred to as les Marines.

Marina Baixa (Valencian: [maˈɾina ˈbajʃa]; Spanish: Marina Baja [maˈɾina ˈβaxa]; lit."Lower Marina") is a comarca in the Valencian Community, Spain.It is bordered by the comarques of Comtat on the northwest, Marina Alta on the northeast, Alacantí and Alcoià on the west and the Mediterranean Sea on the east.
The marina has slips for boats and ships from 8–50 metres (26–164 ft). [2] Its surface area is 15 hectares (37 acres), and its depth ranges from 3–6 metres (9.8–19.7 ft) within the marina, with 7.5 metres (25 ft) at its entrance. There is a beach on each side of the marina where boats can be hired.
