The EF 50mm lenses are a group of normal prime lenses made by Canon that share the same focal length.These lenses are based on the classic double-Gauss lens, [1] with the f/1.8 being a standard six-element double-Gauss with an air gap and powers between element 2 and 3 [1] and its faster cousins adding additional elements. [2]
Canon offered four lens options: 35mm f/3.5, 50mm f/1.8, 95mm f/3.5, and 125mm f/3.5. Through the lens metering was center weighted and automatic exposure was shutter speed priority. Only two cameras were offered and the line was not successful.
Canon FX with FL 50mm f/1.8. Canon FL refers to a lens mount standard for 35mm single-lens reflex cameras from Canon. It was introduced in April 1964 with the Canon FX camera, replacing the previous Canon R lens mount. The FL mount was in turn replaced in 1971 by the Canon FD lens mount. FL lenses can also be used on FD-mount cameras.

The Canon TS-E 50 mm f / 2.8L MACRO is a tilt-shift prime lens that provides the equivalent of the corresponding view camera front movements on Canon EOS camera bodies. Unlike most other EF-mount lenses, it does not provide autofocus .
