Bear Country USA is a drive-through wildlife park and zoo in the Black Hills near Rapid City, South Dakota. Founded in 1972, the park is noted for its bears, but also hosts other North American wildlife, such as wolves, elk, mountain lions, and buffalo.
Bear Country is a 1953 American short documentary film directed by James Algar.It won an Oscar at the 26th Academy Awards in 1954 for Best Short Subject (Two-Reel). [1] [2] The film was produced by Walt Disney as part of the True-Life Adventures series of nature documentaries, [3] and played with Peter Pan [4] during its original theatrical run.

The park was started by Sean and Dennis Casey, whose parents had founded Bear Country USA. another drive-through safari park, in Rapid City, South Dakota. [5] They chose Williams as the location for their own park as they hoped it would have high traffic as it is located near the intersection of I-40 and SR 64, which leads to Grand Canyon National Park.
