Wildwood is located at the juncture of Interstate 75, Florida's Turnpike, State Road 44, and U.S. Route 301. For many years Wildwood was the northern control city on Turnpike road signs however this was replaced with Ocala, Florida beginning in 2007.
County Road 44A exists along the north side of State Road 44 in Wildwood and Orange Home, and was formerly designated as SR 44A. The Wildwood Subdivision is a railroad line owned by CSX Transportation in Florida. It runs along CSX's S Line from Baldwin south to Zephyrhills via Ocala and Wildwood for a total of 155.7 miles.
