Trindledown Farm is the UK's first rescue centre specialising in the rehabilitation and rehoming of elderly domestic and field animals. It is set in 10 acres (40,000 m 2) of fields, near Great Shefford, Berkshire. Formerly used as an equestrian centre and livery yard, it has the capacity to home 25 dogs and 10 cats at a time. [3]
Cats Protection, formerly the Cats Protection League, is a UK charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming stray, unwanted or homeless cats and educating people about cats and cat welfare. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The organization was founded as the Cats Protection League by Jessey Wade and others in 1927.

It was established in Holloway, London, in 1860 and moved to Battersea in 1871. The non-government funded organisation cares for an average of 240 dogs and 145 cats across all three centres at any one time.

RSPCA Mobile claimed to be the first charity mobile phone network in the UK. [72] The agreement included provisions such that the RSPCA would receive up to 15% of top-ups made on the network and it was expected the network would raise £50,000 in the first year of operations. The Canadian Federation of Humane Societies accounts for the largest amount of dog and cat shelters in Canada. With 172 shelters throughout the country, it is estimated that 103,000 cats and 46,000 dogs were taken in during 2013. [8]
