Kit DesLauriers (born 1969) is an American ski-mountaineer who was the first person to ski down the Seven Summits. [1] Her ski-mountaineering feats earned her a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year award in 2015. [2] She was the first woman to have won two consecutive World Freeskiing Champion titles, in 2004 and 2005. [3]

The vintage ski lifts were installed in 1952 by Harwood Developments. They were operated as Mt Baldy Ski Lifts Inc. and were managed by Herbert Leffler from 1953 until his retirement in 1969. The resort was sold to an investment group in 1969. In 1987, Bob Olson proposed a project to make Baldy "The Disneyland of the Mountains." [1]
Ascutney Mountain Resort was a downhill ski area on the western side of Mount Ascutney in Brownsville, Vermont that operated from 1946 until 2010. It was purchased by local communities and the Trust for Public Land in 2015, with plans to reopen a smaller version of a ski area, and keep the rest of the mountain preserved.

A jackjumper is a skiing device with a bench seat attached to a ski. The seat may be solidly mounted with a post, or sprung mounted with a shock-absorbing device. The origins of jack jumping, as well as its name, remain a mystery. The earliest jackjumpers date to the mid- to late 1800s.
