Haplogroup C-M217 is the only variety of Haplogroup C-M130 to be found among Native Americans, among whom it reaches its highest frequency in Na-Dené populations. It would also make sense that this lineage may have originated in the Americas as that is the only Variety found amongst the aboriginal population.
