76 (formerly Union 76) is a chain of gas stations located within the United States. The 76 brand is owned by Phillips 66 . [ 2 ] Unocal , the original owner and creator of the 76 brand, merged with Chevron Corporation in 2005.

By 1997, operations in Europe ended. Pure, and later Union 76, was "The official fuel of NASCAR", a relationship that lasted over 50 years, ending in 2003. [8]
In 1997, Tosco bought the rights to the Union 76 brand of gas stations and the western United States refining and marketing operations from Unocal. [4] Tosco merged with Phillips Petroleum in 2001. [5] Phillips merged with Conoco in 2002 to become ConocoPhillips, who spun off the Circle K stores to Canadian-based Alimentation Couche-Tard.
In 1932, the 76 brand, long familiar in the western U.S., was created by Union Oil Company of California (later Unocal). In 1946, Phillips purchased the Utah-based Wasatch Oil Co., bringing the Phillips 66 brand to the northern Rocky Mountain states and the far eastern portions of Oregon and Washington.

The Standard Gas Station opens at 26980 McCall Blvd and remains a Standard, later Chevron for over 50 years to the present day. Sun City Shell Gas opens at 26730 McCall Blvd. It is a Union 76 today. The current Sun City Gardens Retirement Community is built on the south side of town at 28500 Bradley Rd.
