Never in the history of the earth had so many people heard a prophet’s voice. Prophets see around corners. The sobering reality, however, is that throughout history, most of the people, most of the time, have rejected prophets. The Jaredites illustrate this perfectly.
As we prepare ourselves for greater things, as we focus, plan with the Lord, and have confidence with Him in ourselves, we can find success both in this life and look forward with hope, faith, and charity to receiving those promised eternal blessings. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
In modern revelation, the Savior said: “Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God.” (D&C 18:10) [5] In Galatians 4:7 we read, “Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”. This is an incredible explanation of our value!
Let me use some scriptures and stories to help explain these elements of not hardening our hearts or being Heart Smart. First... To have a Humble Heart: a broken heart is to be contrite, repentant, and meek:that is, to be receptive to the will of God, or the condition of being meek and teachable.
Every member of the BYU–Hawaii community, employees and students, should expect candid feedback from those who supervise them and each of us should respond with meekness. Excellence is achieved when we refine ourselves with humble determination.
Instead, allow God to guide you to use it well — and trust you to use it well. I testify that God our Father exists, that He loves each of us, and that He is eager to answer our prayers. I testify that He always answers – in His own way, on His own timetable.
