Sandy is a city in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area, located in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. The population was 96,904 according to the 2020 United States census. [4] Sandy is home to the Shops at South Town shopping mall; the Jordan Commons entertainment, office and dining complex; and the Mountain America Exposition Center.
The station was opened on August 28, 2006, and is operated by the Utah Transit Authority. Sandy Expo was the second infill station to be built along an existing TRAX line, after the 900 South infill station opened the previous year. [1] Unlike many TRAX stations, Sandy Expo does not have a Park and Ride lot. [2]
In 1998, the theater moved to a new facility in West Valley City through a partnership with the city. The theater relocated for the last time to Sandy in 2017 due to another municipal partnership. Currently, the location at Sandy is the home of the Hale Centre Theatre at the Mountain America Performing Arts Center. [1] [2]
