Loop 223 is a 1.161 miles (1.868 km) state highway loop in McDade, that forms a northern loop off of U.S. Route 290 (US 290) and connects US 290 and Farm to Market Road 2336 with US 290. Loop 223 was designated on March 29, 1949, on the current route.

Park Road 1A (PR 1A) is a major routing of PR 1 located nearly entirely within Bastrop State Park. The highway forms a loop around the center of the park, and connects other portions of PR 1 to State Highway 21 (SH 21). [3] The highway begins at an intersection with SH 21, on the border of the state park.
On February 8, 1933, SH 9 Loop was designated in Tulia. [11] The section from Amarillo to Oklahoma would eventually be overlaid with U.S. Route 287. Business US 66, a business loop in Amarillo, was the only special route of US 66 in Texas. The loop was a former alignment of US 66 through central Amarillo along Loop 279 and US 87 before US 66 was rerouted to the north along what is now Bus. I-40-D.
On February 18, 1936, SH 8 Loop was designated in Buna. [5] On December 20, 1937, two SH 8 Spur routes were designated in Jasper. [ 6 ] While the entirety of the route maintained its number, on September 26, 1939 the co-designations were dropped (with US 96 replacing part of US 59), leaving only the Arkansas-Corley segment to the old highway.
