It consists of 8,000 acres (32 km 2) of cliffs, seven miles of shoreline, [1] sandy beaches, dunes, coastal plains, streams, canyons, and hills, including the 1,347-foot (411 m) Valencia Peak.

The site was on 8,810 acres (3,570 ha) of leased land. The site is in the current town of Baywood-Los Osos, California and the Morro Bay State Park. The lease ended in 1947.
