Kunal Nayyar (/ k ʊ ˈ n ɑː l ˈ n aɪ. ər /, [1] kuu-NAHL NY-ər; born 30 April 1981) is a British actor raised in India and based in the United States. [2] He gained recognition with his portrayal of the Indian character Raj Koothrappali on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019) and voiced Vijay on the Nickelodeon animated sitcom Sanjay and Craig (2013–2016).
